WHO WE ARE

Donna served as the Executive Director for the organization from 2016 - 2024, guiding the school from declining enrollment and antiquated programming through restructuring and improvement plans. The results include increased enrollment, improved teaching practices, improved academic and transition outcomes for students, increased parent satisfaction, enhanced supports for students, an integrated technology plan and improved relationships with partner schools. Donna has more than 30 years of experience in special education as an educator, supervisor, consultant and executive director.

As the Chief Executive Officer, Donna serves as the highest administrator of ACLD, Inc. She works closely with the school community to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan and vision; oversee financial operations; direct fundraising, partnership and community relations initiatives; and guide the design and evaluation of existing and new programs.

Tara served as the school’s Special Education Supervisor from 2019 - 2024, where she was instrumental in facilitating the school’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, collaborating with families, district liaisons and school staff to ensure the success of students with disabilities. Tara has experience teaching students who need learning, autism and emotional support. As Executive Director she implements and maintains the vision for educational programming and ensures that students receive quality services while protecting and facilitating their rights. Tara has a bachelor’s in education from Carlow University and a master’s degree from Slippery Rock University. Her certifications and additional training focus on special education, autism support and leadership.

Charles served as ACLD Tillotson School’s project manager from 2020 – 2024. His role as Business Office Manager encompasses a range of administrative, financial, and operational responsibilities including budgeting and planning, compliance and reporting, record keeping, and providing administrative support. Charles has a bachelor’s degree in business management and human resources management from Carlow University.
